Imran Series

Ibn-e-Safi, a Pakistani author, created the Imran Series, a series of Urdu spy novels featuring Ali Imran, a humorous secret agent who runs the Secret Service as X-2. The series began with Khafraak Imarat in 1955 and progressed to Dhuaen ki Tehreer in the 9th book.

Mazhar Kaleem‘s work made the series famous, with over 600 books written. Ali Imran, a smart young man with an MSc and PhD in chemistry from Oxford, is both playful and liar. The series is well-written and has strong character development.

The series follows a country’s secret service from its capital, Karachi, Pakistan, which is often mistakenly thought to be the capital. Sir Sultan, the Secretary of Internal Affairs, assigns Imran the job of leading the Secret Service after he helps him in Raat ka Shahzadah.
