On Thursday, Nawaf bin Said Al-Malki, Saudi Arabia’s ambassador to Pakistan, met with PML-N leader Nawaz Sharif and Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz to talk about how to make the strategic alliance between the two countries stronger. They talked mostly about how to work together on defense and the economy.
The high-level diplomatic meeting in Lahore shows how the relationship between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia is getting stronger. The leaders talked about what was best for both countries and looked for new ways to work together to help both countries.
A Common Goal for Economic Growth of Pakistan
Strengthening economic ties and encouraging Saudi investment in Pakistan were two main topics of the conversation. Sources say that the main topic of the conversation was how to make Pakistan’s development goals fit with Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030.
Some of the main things to focus on were:
- Trade and Investment: Looking for ways to boost trade between the two countries and bring in more Saudi investment in Pakistan’s most important industries.
- Strategic Cooperation: Strengthening the strategic partnership by working together on technology, energy, and infrastructure projects.
- Defense Cooperation: Building stronger ties between defense and security to keep the region stable.
CM Maryam Nawaz talked about how the government is committed to making Pakistan a good place for foreign investors and thanked Saudi Arabia for always supporting Pakistan’s economic stability.

It was very important that PML-N leader Nawaz Sharif was at the meeting. It showed that he still has power and is dedicated to strengthening the long-standing ties between the two brotherly countries. He said nice things about the leadership of King Salman bin Abdulaziz and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, who are in charge of the Two Holy Mosques.
Nawaz Sharif said that the relationship between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia is “unbreakable and cherished by every Pakistani.”
At the end of the meeting, everyone agreed to speed up progress on all current and future collaborative projects. This showed that everyone had the same vision for a safe and prosperous future.
